Add a Link to an External Website to a Portal Page

Need to Know

The following instructions apply to both Menu Pages and Portal Pages.

What to do

If you are already editing a page start from Step 3, otherwise...
Navigate to the page you wish to edit on your portal
  1. [Home Page Only] Click Edit Homepage link in bottom
    right-hand corner of the page
  2. Click Edit Page Content checkbox

  3. Click LINK icon on Editor Tools bar
    Link pop-up box appears (as above)
  4. [On the Link Info Tab] Enter the URL of the external website
  5. Click the Target Tab
  6. Select how you want the website to appear from the drop-down list. For example, it can be displayed in a pop-up window, in a new window (recommended) or in the same window as your portal (not recommended)
  7. Click OK
    Link pop-up box closes
  8. Make other changes to the page, as necessary
  9. Click Save Changes
    Editor tools disappear and page re-displays
    , OR
    [for global changes] Click Save and Copy to All Portals
