Clone a Portal
Need to know
Avoid re-work by creating a standard portal template for your needs and cloning it for different audiences.Or, if you are about to make major changes to your portal, create a back-up (a clone) first. You might need a copy just in case you delete content from the live portal that you wish you had kept.
What to do
Start at the Accounts Grid on the Dashboard- Click the selection icon (first column) against your account Account Properties screen opens
- Scroll down the screen to the Portals Grid
- Click CLONE icon (fourth column) Copy users over..? dialogue window opens (see above)against the Portal that you wish to clone
- [Either] Click OK Dialogue window closes, your new portal is listed in the Portal Grid
- [OR] Click Cancel Clone portal without users...? dialogue window opens
- [THEN] Click OK Dialogue window closes, your new portal is listed in the Portal Grid
- Continue by
- selecting a different Portal Template for the clone, OR
- Amend the Member Groups allowed to access the cloned content, OR
- Amend the content published on the clone
