Member Groups

About Member Groups
Access to the Portals is managed using Member Groups. The Account Owner or their Administrators set which Portal Content Member Groups can view, whether they can upload files to the Portal, and whether the group has access to the Portal Discussion Area (or Forum). There is no limit to the number of Member Groups that can be associated with an Account, but the more groups there are the greater the complexity in managing them.
Members inherit the permissions of the group or groups to which they have been assigned. Account Owners and Administrators have their first opportunity to assigned Members to groups when they invite Members to access a portal. However, Members can be moved in and out of groups at any time.
Every Member, including the Account Owner, belong to the Everyone Member group (unless the Account Owner or an Administrator remove them from it).
